Awesome!

This is cool. It actually looks like an issue of the Commando comic book (I have two copies in my collection). I like the composition and the sense of dust and heat. A few brush strokes on the barrel of the gun -- that would make it more convincing. Also, that price emblem in the lower right? That has to go. Everything else is so crisp and clear that it really stands out in a bad way and detracts from your work. Even the stain near the logo is cool, because it makes it look more like a comic scan than a 3D composition. Great work.

Nicely done Neil, it reminds me of my youth, I grew up with these & Battler Britton, Hours & hours reading these war comics, fond memories indeed.

Awesome Neil, takes me back to the days when I brought these little books. As Luis said, fond memories :-) You should do more of these.

Very cool, Neil. I really like the magazine cover format. On another note, I have to agree with the comments about the low rez price marking. The artilleryman biting the dust in the foreground makes the action pretty compelling.

I sure remember these. When in school in Switzerland 1965 there were lots of these (both in English and French) circulating among the students. However, I didn't see them when in England 1970-1. Perhaps I was looking in all the wrong places. Thanks for this great reproduction of the type of cover art these simple comics had. Frankly, I enjoyed them a lot more than the American Sgt. Rock comics. There was more reasoning and explaining with a logic leading to the battle than in the US war comics. Keep up the good work. Yes, I'd like to see more of this type of art. Many of the cover art on these comics were very well made. :-)

Oops! Not knowing the history here... I was thinking Tailspin got hold of a Sherman, and that was some poor 17-pounder crew... ;) Excellent action scene though!
