Description
American Indians have a belief in Animal Spirit Guides. It is I suppose in many way similar to the Christian belief in guardian angels, except the emphasis is on harmony with nature. Given what our species is doing to the planet, any thought or belief system that attempts to refocus us on the natural order of things can only help. With this in mind, I have been working on a photo series, titled (duh) Spirit Guides. I thought I'd shift gears and instead of posting digital art works for awhile, I'd post a few images from this series. The first one is titled Buffalo Soldier. Among its many strong traits, the Buffalo Spirit possesses the virtue of sacrifice, a trait we will need if we ever hope to find solutions to our global predicament.

I think this is a great idea for a series - and what a great start, my friend! You did an amazing job on this. Indeed - we as a species need to stop and take a good long look at where we're headed - and make some drastic changes before we end up simmering in our own juices...

My own thoughts lie along the paths of Eastern philosophies, Taoism and Buddhism to be specific. North American Indians have very much the same attitude towards nature. I like your break from the hum-drum existence of everyday thinking and going on a quest to search deeper into our lives and existence. Shake things up for the rest of us (LOL). Have a good one! What a beautiful picture, created with so much skills. What a pity you have ruined it with your copyright mark. No watermarks, no brandmarks will protect your images from pirating. Take pirating as a compliment. I will not comment your ideas about belief. I will not write anything about the USA have treated native people. You simply created a very convincing picture. 5 stars of course.

the only line I remember from the Matrix was Mr. Smith commenting to Neo that "humans are a virus" it struck a cord, one I hope your series will echo — excellent start, you've made me feel guilty about eating buffalo, and I must confess to eating whale meat too, both quite delicious... :(

And my son confessed recently to having dined on kangaroo. I'd be in a position to judge if it weren't for the fact that I'm a carnivore myself. I mean bacon.
