Description

The trains stopped running shortly after this was taken so there were large crowds congregating all around this area. I don't think the Police were prepared for any eventuality such as the train failing. Gladly those awful oily buses got them out of the area. Apparently around 200,000 people went to the Open this year. I'd better point out that the more affluent people had car spaces away from the Royal Liverpool. School playing fields were commandeered and a large plot of land was concreted over for hard standing for vehicles essential to "feed" the Open Golf. The concreted area used to be the site of one of the oldest private schools in UK the Lees School. These posh guys were chauffeured in by Mercedes limousines or flown in by helicopter. A fair few of the waking spectators passed our house! lol Thanks for stopping by!
