Description

One of the images I'm working on. I'm not sure if it's done, I may add or alter some things. So please do give me your (honest) opinion on this render :)

Nice image i like how you got the writing in the sand how did you do that?looks quite effective. two things I think may be of benefit the sand has very little texture even zoomed in theres not much texture to it and the other thing the gentlemans environment and clothing suggest some one that would have a darker skin tone the skin on his hands looks too pale to me

Good suggestions, I'll give them a try, thanks for taking the time to give them to me :) Gettng this effect is quite easy, I stumbled upon it by accident a while back when playing with some of Vue's features. I typed the text in a drawing application with black letters on a completely white background. Saved that as a jpg file. In Vue I placed a new terrain in my scene, entered the terrian editor and rest the terrain. Then I chose picture, the icon with the black figure on it. In the next menu I loaded the jpg file and set the proportions to 5 percent and hit OK. Now you have a terrain with the hand writting in it. In the effects tab I pressed diffuse a couple of times to smooth the text a little. Now you can add other effects to the terrain as well. The other way to do this is by creating a terrain brush with the text, but I haven't used that here, the way I did is was quick and easy. I you create a terrain brush, you can use effects like these on your existing terrains.

Very cool and great idea. I do agree with iborg on the texture and skin tone, but a cool image and wonderful sentiment nonetheless. Especially all that's going on these days.
