Description

Cheapo ones but still one of my favourite media. 'Our Daily Challenge' on Flickr was Hexagon or hexagonal, which is how this came about.

Super shot and idea! I used to always chew the ends of these while drawing as a kid, much to the annoyance of the teacher.

Fantastic idea Andrea, this is what makes photography creative and fun. I don't know why but when I look at this it reminded of a work by Christo called "Wall of Oil Barrels - Iron Curtain" from way back in 1962. They are of course round and the pencil crayons hexagonal.

I find myself staring and studying one pencil end after another. Each is different, with different wood and a slightly different shape and make and color (of course). What a mesmerizing piece!

Oh, a great shot, and pure eye candy to anyone who loves pencils. I zoom everything, but here zoom just changes the picture entirely: It's a big bold late 80s abstract, all of a sudden, influenced by pop art and with almost a Warhol quality. Love it. And for people who love these pencils, it's delicious. Playful and bold and big and beautiful. Love that you post shots like this.
