Description
"Look DEEP into my eyes! Look DEEP, I said. And you will know the secret of what happened that evening......"
Saturday, July 19, I visited the pet shop where I got my rats to discuss if Blackie should have cage mates or not after Beige's death. I decided to wait a while. That afternoon a winged insect (moth?) flew into my kitchen. I expected it to fly out.
After eating dinner, Kitty walked behind me into the kitchen to "supervise" that I eat my food and not hers. She suddenly stopped, stared momentarily at the ceiling, leaped onto the kitchen counter and then straight at the ceiling. For a moment I saw the wings of the moth as a paw with extended claws closed on it. After landing on the floor, both Kitty and I tried to find the moth - it had completely disintegrated. So, from this I know getting 2 small ratties to be Blackie company isn't a good idea.
This photo shows another of Kitty's "kills" - the stuffed hen. She hasn't developed the hunting instinct so far that she's tried tearing the toy apart. I hope she doesn't - it would be a mess with the stuffing all over the apartment!
Enjoy!

Great capture and cute story I think that until she is taught that the rats(s) are to be treated as family and not objects of death, it would behoove you to hold off on getting roommates for Blackie
