Description
Threw on the macro lens. I admire all the macro photographers here because quite honestly its the most difficult genre of photography there is. I mean, between the wind, and then getting the lens in the right position and distance from subject, and being able to hold focus and with all the right settings to achieve your goal... hats off to all of you.
This is a macro of what appears to be about a 3/4 inch flower across. It is one that is planted in our wheel barrel planter in front of our home. I tried to mainly narrow focus to central portion here.
Thank you as always! :)

Excellent work buddy. I can see how you placed the plane of focus here to f3.5 is a shallow field mate, well done.

I have found it difficult for macros also, but although many find bokeh to be good, I would like to be able to avoid it on many occasions very nice flower. I tried a 180mm macro but returned it to the point of purchase as it was so hard to hand hold and get any focus

Well done! I have so much trouble with that focus wind (the wind that comes up every time I get the focus where I want it while shooting outdoors).

The wind does make life difficult! I've found if I wait and watch for a little while, a pattern of movement begins to show itself. There's usually a time when the flower hits a certain place and haaaannnnngs for a second. That's when you click the shutter! LOL! Try it over and over again, and you're bound to get a good result once in a while. This image is certainly well done! Whatever your technique, it paid off. Beautiful!

A delightful capture and my favorite color. Macro photos of flowers is my downfall.
