Description
Captured back on 10/27/12, very early morning, somewhere around the neighborhood.
A little change of pace here from boats, clouds, roses and power towers.
I like the prominence of the long stem shadow.
Arrivederci.

amazing capture

I'll say, amazing capture indeed! That shadow is really surprising, since the stem is sort of camouflaged against the leaf itself. Fantastic work!

Man, have I been gone this long? This was posted Aug 1st. Well I have to do at least one leaf shot, so why not this one...this was beautiful. Minimal but rich. Your shadows---there are 3---are in perfect perpendicular relation to the striations in the concrete. And all are beautifully angled against your frame. The leaf and its shadow even have equal space at the two ends---that is, the space between them and the frame is the same, on both sides. You have these two shadow 'bands'---top and bottom---which are thick and soft; and they encase the very sharp thin shadow in the center. (That shadow's like a fine ink-line.) And the taper of the leaf shadow---from the leaf on out---is wonderful. Very sharp, very minimal, beautifully composed and cropped, and a visual haiku. Another shadow beauty, Harry. This is a wonderful series.
