Description

As I was walking back to my house after shooting the sunset, I noticed the way the light was hitting the buddha & surrounding trees & foliage on the mound that sits in the middle of my driveway, giving it all a reddish cast. I quickly set up the tripod & took a few shots, of which I liked this one the best. Please zoom...

Oh yes indeed. I like the rusty tones and the way the light falls. Nice!

You're one of the few photographers who can handle such saturated images---and with only a few dominant hues, too---and create a wholly vivid, real and enveloping image. Somehow, the predominance of a few hues allows that bush to become part of the texture of the whole sight: It seems to burst out right into the trees behind it, like it was all connected (something Buddha would be happy to hear). A flame made out of nature. And the reds set off the yellows and greens very powerfully. Having Buddha stand there, observing, soaking it in, is the perfect finishing touch. I know you didn't move him there for the shot, but your capture made him seem the ultimate observer. There are Buddhist scriptures so phantasmagorical that this scene would actually look tame by comparison (clouds opening up on numerous other cosmos's, buddhas from ages past and present popping in, mountain-sized lotus flowers dropping from the sky). So Buddha wouldn't have any problems with this. An intimate yet bursting capture, and feeling like the world as Buddha might see it. Beautiful work.
