Description

Michael suggested a day in the great outdoors. Take the canoe to the lake and paddle around relaxing in the fresh air and sunshine. Sounded great to Victoria, until after the loading, packing, unloading, hauling, and walking forever with her head stuck in a canoe that was getting heavier with every step and a backpack that gained a pound every few minutes. The very idea that this process would be repeated after sitting folded up in the narrow confines of the canoe for hours paddling made her groan. Next weekend the fresh air outdoor adventure would be experienced beside the pool with a tall glass of iced tea and a lounge chair. Truth be told, I love canoeing and getting out on the water, but when I finished this image, it told me another story. This is an older one I found while cleaning out my WIP folder. It seemed appropriate for the season so I touched it up and give it to you for a laugh. Amy Hair by Littlefox at RDNA. Beautiful job compositing! I can sure relate to this, but I was carrying a tent on a scout week end camp out. Hot, humid, but no place to take a dip upon our arrival to the camp site! Much like this summer. I love that protesting duck! :-)

Love it. This why I switched to a kayak. Less ungainly, easier to carry and a heck of a lot more stable!

Great image and story. Very realistic scene, too. Rafting the rivers of Utah canyon country is more relaxing (except for occasional rapids) because the river does the work and those inflatable rafts can carry a load of gear.
