Description
Here's one for the railroad buffs out there. This steam locomotive, built in 1890, operated from 1891 to 1925, carrying passengers and freight along a 5 mile single rail track from Jacksonville to Medford (Oregon). It had been housed in a private collection for some time, but this year was purchased by the Jacksonville Heritage Society & returned to Jacksonville, where it now sits on an original piece of track. The railroad was called the Rogue River Valley Railroad (RRVRR) & this locomotive was nicknamed the Tea Kettle. The widespread use of passenger vehicles & commercial trucks led to the demise of this enterprise in 1925...
