Description

Using pastel has always given me problems about how to store them without they get damaged. I think my problem is solved now: I had to try an idea out, as I love using pastels so very much. On a piece of thick drawing paper I used Gesso, which is thick paint for foundation with a little bit of maybe marble powder in it. The powder gives a ruch surface. which seems to be good for pastel. When it was dry, I drew this quick Pastel drawing on it. Then a thick layer of common Fixative (it actually doesnt darken it much, as when it is dry, it is almost like before) When that had dried, I added a layer of common acrylic Gel, which gives it a nice glossy surface, which protects the pastel totally from falling off. Now it looks like an acrylic surface and doesnt need any protecting Gass or a frame, to be preserved properly :) I can store it amongst all the other junk I make LOL ! Have a beautiful day We have nice sunny weather with pleasant temperatures. :) Thank you so much for viewing and commenting to my previous post. :)

Well done to you, great subject and great use of pastels, fixative is important, I know some who think it's a good idea not to and later it's all tears when they or someone else smudges the work or another piece is laid on top and they shift... important to use it.

Such a fantastic idea you found out to make this one 'cool' for ages, my friend. And I love your drawing with that cute nose and ears. I'm very nice surprised seeing this funny face as out a fairytale story. Bravo, Helle!
