i made this image for Deviant Art's "Witches of East End" contest, unfortunately I did not rank even as a semi finalist. I believe it is due in part to the show's producers/judges have so much wrong with the true lore of Asgard and that character/digital art still has no place in the main stream. Rules were simple: employ an aspect of one of three of Poe's works as well as aspects of the tv series. Apparently, I did not match the judges idea of criteria, however, I am sure that I met it according to the instructions put forth on the contest site. Those selected as finalists and semi finalists were all traditional hand drawn, painted and anime style art which I realize is very popular right now. Freyja is one of the daughters in the series and one her best talents was alchemy, which i was trying to convey with this image. 50+ hours when into make this image including render time. Just really disappointed in the obvious bias against 3D art.
