today, I left the house with my friend at 0530 (barely sunrise) to go over to Portland for the 19th Annual Providence Bridge Pedal. the last two rides, I did the 8-bridge (24 miles), this year, however, I opted for the 10-bridge (36 miles). Sounds good right? a minor mistake in how the route was presented had a bunch of us repeating the 2nd and 3rd bridge, thereby adding an additional 8 miles to the ride. Doable if you're prepared, we weren't quite prepared but we still did it. In all, I averaged 12.01 miles an hour. this is very impressive when you realize the hills we rode to get to the bridges (anyone who's drove in Portland knows what I'm talking about. I'm now at home resting comfortably, listening to Sommeille by George Telemann. I will do the 10-bridge ride next year. thank you for your kind comments and faves and I wish you a great week. ps this is the shot of the start line for the 10-Bridge - we started at 0700.

Wishing you a speedy recovery, Mike! Yes, I have driven around Portland a few years ago and can relate to the presence of 'hills'. LOL. At least you are keeping yourself healthy with all the biking you do! A most excellent photo, btw! Well done, Mike! I wish you many happy returns to the bridge pedal circuit!
