Description

I thought I'd try something different and had a go at a (sort of) interior scene. While I liked the sunrise in the background, it didn't give me enough light so I threw in a spotlight. I've never worked with a spotlight before, so some of the interior shadows are a little funky. Meh! You live and learn. :) The rather superb writing desk, maze and Newton's Cradle models are freebies by hypnogogia over at ShareCG. My most sincere thanks to him for making such quality items available for free. Rendered in Vue with postwork in Photoshop Thank you very much for any fav's. They're greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking :happybounce:

A really good start. You definitely learn by trail and error... Like the way you have setup the scene.

Very creative set-up. Mixing interiors with exteriors can be a total pain! I use DS myself and not Vue, so I can't really give you any tips on the technical side. All I can say is maybe use your DOF to blur the background and focus more on the young lady. The pink glow on her back side and under her dress I guess are the result of the sunlight (backlight?) These seem like issues we all deal with and just have to keep experimenting to find the right settings (LOL). Thanks for the heads up on Newton's Cradle at ShareCG.

I'm thinking that next time I do an interior scene I'll just do a nice Vanitas Still-Life scene, and stick with a spotlight, lol. I'd love do something similar to one of Harmen Steenwyck's. Yeah, the glow is probably due to the sunlight, and one particular setting I should have adjusted that makes the light reflect more. Quite a nice effect, but not at all realistic when it comes to skin.
