Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I love his (her?) expression! Such a gorgeous photo and black and white is the perfect choice too...you get to see the details of the feathers and I think that the black and white opens up more possibilities to explore the different textures and patterns. It's kinda like looking at bas relief etchings and stuff like that: it's all light and shadow and shape. That's the impression I get with this, and it's marvelous. Really good shootin'. And for some reason, the title of this pic made me think of Kojak...though this little person isn't saying "Who loves ya, baby?" the Kojak vibe seems to fit.

Fabulous foto of the fine feathered friend, Marilyn. I like the textured feathers, its curious expression, clarity and the back lighting. You should have taken first place.

A stunning image, especially in zoom. But why so serious?

Didn't I comment on this before? I was sure I did. (Maybe in email or on the phone.) Well it deserved a prize, it's a fine detailed black and white of a majestic bird. And the mass of its body (in back of its head) is impressive---you shot it to let us see just how corpulent this magnificent beast is. Fine work, Marilyn. And it was a ways ago...you were doing scintillating work all the way back then!
