Description
Captured 8/14/14, early morning, somewhere around the neighborhood.
That is one big Sony, obsolete of course, waiting for a haul away. I have tons of curb television shots taken over the years vegetating in my files, along with other haul away stuff, mainly sofas. I bet you would like to see those.
BTW, check out the cars parked on the lawn, which in itself is mostly a dirt surface as a result. Have the owners no pride?

Very great shot.

Something different! Is this a usual sight?
goodoleboy
I see it quite often. Usually the sets are much smaller.

some people have no qualms about giving up on the 'public highway' of very large objects, this TV left behind in a parking lot, being the best proof !!! if everyone did the same !!!
goodoleboy
The "parking lot" is the lawn of someone's home. There should be a city ordnance against parking on front lawns, but it is personal property, so whadda ya gonna do?

I certainly do imagine they paid a pretty penny for this jewel back in the day, Harry.

In my neighborhood, within a day or two, old TV's left on the curb are broken apart for their lead. (For salvage or to make fishing weights.)

Bet that was one expensive TV new; too bad it's likely not working now. I don't understand how people can just leave things out like this. I suppose it's the same mentality that will park on the lawn, and is the reason why there are bars on the windows too. Sad, sad, sad. Great shots of this how-the-mighty-have-fallen object, Harry!

Obsolete, yeah, but I'm surprised some person didn't come to take it away to see if they could get it to work. It's so big it looks like a monstrosity compared to today's tv's though.

At one time, 'state of the art, amazing'!

Yes, we live in a throwaway society. Great find and shot.
