Beautiful image for a sad episode.

the first news account I heard was both men were fighting the officer. they were not going to give up because they knew they had stolen from a store. 6 times seems to be extreme, but with two possibly large men fighting one man it is hard to say what went down. superb render

A beautiful render, Steve - and it truly shows the depth of your heart, my friend. A superb work for a sad episode.. Living in Missouri, of course it's saturated the news here even more than in the rest of the country... I've heard many different stories as well - everything from Brown was being stopped for a strong-arm robbery at a convenience store, to he was trying to get the officer's gun, to he was trying to surrender. There was wrongdoing on both parts, and it escalated out of control. Brown was a BIG guy, and I think the officer may have feared for his life - and he was probably in adrenalin overload, and just kept firing. I heard the autopsy revealed one of the two fatal shots went into his cranium from the top - which means he was bending or falling forward when the bullet struck. I do hope the true facts come forward and this sad episode can finally be put to rest so his family can find some peace. But looting and rioting is not going to serve either side.

Nice image.

I really don't believe it matters if their was skirmish between the Officer and young men or not, shooting an unarmed person 6 times(twice in the head) is wrong, Police are supposedly trained in self defense as well as offense and if he couldn't control the situation without the use of deadly force as a first resource he has no business being a Cop. That's part of the problem, hiring anyone ill equipped to handle that type of mentally and physically stressful a job and all you have is a punk with a Badge and a Gun, seems to me there needs to be a higher standard for hiring Police that are put on the Street. These incidents are not anomalies they happen all too frequently, there is a systemic problem with who is being hired to be Cops something needs to change. Peace.

Beautiful pic and a tragic story for sure The image really conveys sad emotions of a tragic incident. I have a feeling that no matter what, six times was too much. But I bet when it all comes out, the man who did the shooting feared for his life. I only have the hearsay we've all been hearing, but I bet the cop regrets what he did, and not just because he'll get in trouble but because he is horrified at what he did or felt he had to do. I could be wrong, He could be a "hater", but from what I've heard so far, probably not. As for the victim. There are no words. It is very, very sad when someone that young is killed, especially in such a tragic manner. I can only imagine the family's anguish of their lost child. I feel for them. What can be done so things like this do not repeat. Every ounce of truth should be revealed to see how such a tragedy can happen and then we should be reminded once a week about it.

A wonderful image and dedication for Michael Brown - a sad waste of a young life. I don't have all the facts yet either but the cop's family has also been destroyed.

I'll merely say that it is sad anyone this young loses his or her life regardless of the circumstances. My heart goes out for the youth who have to face this violent world we have passed on to them.
ANGELFIRE999
Lovely and touching tribute! You're right, we who weren't there can't know the true circumstances. But, I'm sorry; it's hard not to judge. If you can't subdue an unarmed man with less than six shots, you shouldn't be in law enforcement!

Very impactful image. "Stop or I'll shoot". Is an old expression. I wonder if it was uttered in this instance?
