Description

Cinema 4d and Photoshop. 20% modeling and 150% textures. a lot of SubSurfaceScattering that wouldn't play nice... If you look too close you'll find lots of small problems... Maybe one day I'll go back and fix them

Very creative and beautifully crafted. In spite of the post work and any problems you may have incurred, the final product is wonderful. Love it!!!

It's a fantastic scenery... And - the 'lot of little probs' - take it as gimmicks... (The visibility of the lattice model at the bow - with a strong icy ship can pass as frost fracture...)

Thanks aubedo, you're right of course, in fact I gave a little extrusion to the shape, bay unfortunately the lattice is triangular so it doesn't look right. Also, after publishing the image I noticed that if you look closely the rigging of the masts does not reach all the way at the top (oops - spent too much time with the ice sickles).

absolutely fantastic pic! must have took a hell of lot of work - the berg at the side of the ship is stunning

Yeah, for some reason that one came out better than the others. In fact is not sculpted/modeled, but it is a simple shape with avery complicated displacement with many layers of noise (I don't know if this makes sense to you, it depends on the program, in this case Cinema 4d) Thanks for commenting.

Nice work Eremes. Physical rendering ? To give a greater sense of abandonment, I will not put the smoke out of the chimney of the boat. But this is only my personal opinion and what it is you've done a beautiful work!

Thanks. Yes Physical render and 1000 renders because of the Subsurface scattering.. I had thought of a different narrative. Few survivors, sent a party in search of help, using up the last reserves of fuel ... something like that. Thanks for commenting. I appreciate that.
