My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

I dare! if I can fish for trout on an alien world, surely then I can follow this path wherever it leads me. Great shot Tara.

I feel like Alice in Wonderland!! Great shot with awesome light and shadows!!

Oh yes! There's a lot to discover in there, around there, over there: up above and down below! I see it as brimming with all sorts of interesting life--things engaged in the sorts of biological improvisations that make murky, fern-endowed, moss-carpeted places endlessly fascinating. I bet there are some really nice woodlice and slugs in there! And to top it off, it's so peaceful and inviting (at least to me) and there's so much to see and explore! Yeah...I dare. This looks like an enlightening and fun place!

Absolutely brilliant! You've found the entrance to the faery underworld. Be careful or you might become W.B. Yeats' Stolen Child.

There could be a big brown bear in there. You go first and I will follow!!

A beautifully lush shot. The scale seems to be a little ambiguous to me (how big is that tree?) which only heightens the sense of mystery & anticipation...

Good lead in!

impressive !!

Love love love these trees! Each one has such personality and you have captured this ons beautifully. I would, of course, follow the path. There might be a wonderful world in there.

I get the feeling either Bill or yourself should have stood under this, corny I know, but it would have been a cracking shot...Wait hold the bus, I bet you did it?

I rather call it Fort Canby, went there on my honeymoon and slept in a station wagon....years later we took a kitten we had and we hadn't named her yet and the name Canby seemed right, so that was her name for 15 yrs. Maybe next yr. I can get my kids together and spread my husbands ashes there, we went camping there a lot. Nice shot by the way Tara...

Inviting, BUT I think not! A very special photo which may mysteriously vanish from your hard drive if the right folk find out.

To me, of course, there is little doubt what magic hides down that path. This amazing capture is of the type you occasionally find that screams at the top of it's lungs for Zam to appear, there is so much potential for fun here. I asked Zam if he wanted to play but he said no and ran off; I'm afraid he hasn't forgotten what happened last time he left the safety of his own forest.

Oh yes, I'm up for some adventure! What a wonderfully magic find and capture!

Oh, yes..... The portal to places unknown, and stories untold! What a find, and a super photo, Tara! It almost looks like it's illuminated from the inside.

WOW... he looks like a tree on stilts and the path as away to a subterranean gate. I'd be curious. It is like a magnet. Very well discovered. Amazing !!
debbielove
Oooooh! Cool! I like this.. I'd have been in there as a kid! lol Rob

The unknown is so good for the mind! One peep will reveal something so ordinary and the mystery is dead! Superb find and shot! It would contain a dwarf unicorn on roller skates, in a clowns outfit, playing a 5 string banjo and whistling! Maybe?
jgeorge
Maybe there's a whole world... and I'm sure that fairies meet there by night... :)
