Description

This is John a man that I grew up with. He is a champion onion and leek grower throughout the UK. He called on me this morning to give me what you see in the picture and told me that these were of the smaller ones and he is growing an onion of over 12 lbs to try and beat the record for the UK. I hear you saying "I bet they are as tough as old boots" but going on other years when he has given me these I can tell you they are extremely good to eat and Julie makes a lot of soup out of them.

Wow! If you hadn't of explained, I would have thought this was a photo manipulation to make them look larger! What a terrific farmer he is and great that he holds records for his crops. Great shot!
