Description
Once more to the Cold War Hanger at RAF Cosford...... This MiG21PF was delivered to the Hungarian Air Force in 1966. This was the second production version of the MiG21, with all weather capability, an enlarged nose housing radar in the inlet centre body and was the first Soviet Fighter capable of flying at twice the speed of sound.
This aircraft was purchased privately for use in a James Bond film to be made at Pinewood Studios. It was brought to the UK and assembled by a team of Hungarian technicians.
It was transported to Cosford in 2006 following it's purchase from the family of it's late owner John Hallett.

Was the Bond movie, "The World is Not Enough"? I didn't see any MiGs in any of Daniel Craig's Bond movies. Roger Moore doesn't count. As I recall there weren't any MiGs in Dr. No, Goldfinger, or Thunderball . . . Maybe it was "You Only Live Twice"? Yeah, I'll go with that answer: "You Only Live Twice." Nice image by the way! The MiG 21 and MiG 29 are among my favorite fighters.
