Description
After uploading the first one I realized I had concentrated so hard on textures that the render was awfully flat and uninteresting. Also wanted to try to solve the problem of the glasses reflections clouding up the eye details by moving the camera to a different angle other than flat on to the lenses of the glasses, as suggested by the awesome Philw, and I think it works much better, now not so much just a test render but an actual render with a little more life and character to it hopefully :)

Well Done. Skin texture is super, nice hair too!

Both look pretty good. This one's perhaps a little more natural looking. I've found that most models of glasses have flat lenses, which render out looking off. A quick pull with the magnet tool in the Edit room to add curves brings a more realistic surface/refraction effect.

Great tip! Thank you for the idea, I'll definitely have to give it a shot :)

I've got to agree with you, this is better now. IMHO what really makes this one is the additional stuff in the background, it just adds that little extra, which makes a big difference

Very nice portrait! You did very well with the glasses. Great reflections.

I like both versions, but this is definitely a step up - well worth the extra time. I would say the only thing that holds back the realism now is the hair. It is extremely difficult to find a good realistic hair prop to begin with, but I've usually had to tweak the textures on every hair I've used to make it render believably in Carrara. Please don't take this as a criticism, it is not, just pointing you to the next rung on the ladder LOL! This is really splendid work!
