Description
"I've always believed a portrait
captures a human being far better
than a photograph." Lawrence from
the movie "Monsters Ball"
Here I am, sitting alone again,
another night at this "damned cafe'"
Waiting, always waiting for
someone, anyone to ease the
loneliness burning inside.
No one would know I was
in so much pain,
for when I dress up
and put on My make-up,
I become a different woman.
After all...
It was a night at the Bijou.
Nothing could ever get in the way.
Besides what would I ever do without it...
The sketch was referenced through
a photo taken by French Born,
Transylvania Artist-Gyula Brassi (1899-1984).
The original photo is entitled:
"Bijou" of the Montamartre Cabarets
from "Paris by Night" 1933
This is the color version of
my sketch which was accomplished
through PSP7 and Corel. The Frame,
Rose, Potted Plants, Wall Plate,
Suitcase, Book Stack and Corner
Angels are PSP7 tubes...most of which
were found at Jazzi's Tubes.
I hope you like it...Cheryl

abscence or absynthium - the "fin de siecle" illness.

Coloured is as charming as before :) the face is still lovely in that peculiar expression. Good job, colourful or colourless, your works always are delicious to be seen :)

Beautiful, Cheryl! The colors are perfect. Well done!

I am intrigued by the horror repressed that is seen in the complete lack of nobility of all French work.

Nice coloring and exspression.

This is quite original, good use of various mediums.
