Description

Crater Lake, Oregon We live about an hour north of where I lived and worked for 30 years, so there are a lot of people we don't see as often as we might like. It's so easy to get together on the spur of the moment when you can be somewhere in 15 minutes! Last night we went into town and visited our good friends, Erik & Martha. They cooked us dinner, and we had a wonderful time visiting and hanging out together. They're some of our favorite people, and it had been far too long since we'd seen them. Erik is the one who got me involved in computer art and introduced me to Renderosity So thank you, E&M, for a wonderful evening, great food, and outstanding company. You're the best! :)

Scrolling down I thought when I first saw the top of this that it was a stone pillar like those found in Monument Valley. A spectacular image, perfect composition and outstanding details. It is always nice to see old friends.

This one is just beyond words, Tara! A photo that belongs in National Geographic.. You know, with a little imagination, that tree trunk could almost pass for Sauron's Dark Tower..... What a beauty!

Beautifully composed shot. In most photos (& in reality, when weather conditions are right), Crater Lake is colored a very deep, intense blue & instantly becomes the star of the show. Here it clearly plays second fiddle to that fascinating tree stump that exudes character. And the reds & oranges in the top part of the stump seem to glow from within...
