Description

Just a bit of stuff I'm working on besides CG.... Here are two of my in-progress projects. I'm building a series of interlocking benches for my computer room. The bench you see here is the prototype (which means I'm making all my mistakes on this one LOL). The benches will bolt together end to end with 1/4 - 20 bolts and wingnuts. The benches are designed to be easy to assemble/disassemble with bolts and wingnuts. The cross-beam on the upper section will have VESA mounts for my monitors, which gets them right at eye level, and opens up more surface on the bench top. The other project - sitting on top of the bench - will eventually be my "Stealth" drone. When complete (which will likely take all winter), it will be capable of carrying 3 cameras (a GoPro, a Mobius, and a board camera for FPV), and will have a GPS autopilot system which will allow it to fly completely autonomously. I'll be able to connect it to my laptop, give it GPS coordinates, and send it on its way. I'm getting a bit frustrated, as the ESCs (speed controllers for the motors) have been backordered for the last 2 months. It has 4 big motors and 11 inch props, so it should be able to lift quite a bit. The plans and parts list for the H-Quad drone are Here @ FliteTest. See the H-Quad in action Here. Update (09-01-14): YAY!! The ESCs are in stock, finally! Ordered them today! Now - it's off to bed for me. It's been a busy weekend! I'll spend Monday working on the latest T.N.A. page. Thanks for dropping by, and hope you enjoy what's left of the weekend!

She probably won't fly until spring, but we'll see. They finally got the Plush 30 ESCs in stock @ Hobby King, so I ordered them today. Now I need to get the Arducopter APM 2.6 controller from 3D Robotics, a radio, a transmitter, etc. Sheesh - I need 2 or 3 more expensive hobbies..... :-P

That shop looks awesome! The computer room must be pretty big also, if you have to put more than one of those desks together to work. Me and my pitiful iMac envy you. Fabulous work!

Wow.. love the projects! I bought a VESA mount for one of my computers. I got an extra monitor for it, so I have one sitting landscape and another turned portrait. This lets me render things a bit 'taller' than I could with just the landscape set up. I would love a bigger computer room / set up. We have all of our stuff in our living room area of our apartment. Gets a bit tight on space. The new drone looks great. I already want to see what pictures you'll get with that baby. Looking forward to the next TNA Gals episode! I would tell you to get busy, but you already are. :P LOL
