Description

Two of the Juvenile Osprey were fighting over this fish. The Osprey on the right appeared to have a full crop so he was not interested in fighting. At one point, both Ospreys had their talons dug into the fish. Finally the bird on the left won and quickly flew off with the fish in its grasp.

Thanks Blinkings.. I fixed it. Trying to figure out why my background sky looks purple and then when I click for a larger view, it is back to a blue sky.

Stellar shot, Steve!! Instant fave! Is this in Colorado near where you live? I never saw one growing up in Colo but as a kid I didn't look for birds.

Cavalier Lady There are a lot of Osprey up in the Granby, Grand Lake and Shadow Mountain areas. I am guessing the forest service has erected tall poles with platforms on top. The Ospery start building nest as soon as the put a new pole up. They are also some Osprey along the Front Range. Mainly from Boulder north. I see an occasional Osprey in the spring at both Cherry Creek Reservoir and at Chatfield State Park. I wish they would put up platforms in those areas. A lot closer for me to go.
