Description
A baby rattlesnake that appeared on our deck a few years ago. From what I've been told by experts, baby rattlers are actually more dangerous than adults, because they haven't learned to control the release of their venom & just release it all at once.
I haven't been inspired to go out & do a lot of photography lately, so I've been combing through my archives for photos that I originally may have overlooked & may be worth rescuing. This is an example of one whose quality was not all that great (& still isn't), but if there's something worthwhile in a photo (subject, composition, light, etc.), then I enjoy using whatever tools I have at my disposal to try to improve it...

Please avoid getting bit by one of these beautiful youngsters like your neighbor did a couple of years ago!!

A very attractive composition. Your postwork makes the whole image like an embroidery!

I agree with Andrea ... it has the feeling of needlepoint. A baby rattler is worth seeing no matter how "good" the image is. Cool capture!

Cool shot, and I hope you were shooting from a safe distance (preferably behind glass!).

Safe distance? As things turned out, yes. Behind glass? Only if you count the lens on my camera.

Deadly but still sort of cute - it looks like his first rattle is still forming!
