Description

Facing the Place Jacques-Cartier, City Hall took 6 years to build between 1872 and 1878. When it was less than 59 years old, a fire completely destroyed the interior and roof of the building. The people of Montreal made sure the inside and roof were rebuilt in a timely manor. Today the building houses the administration office and Mayor office for Montreal.

Beautiful architecture in this old building; they don't put clocks on buildings much anymore, do they? Lovely capture!

A really lovely building and built in a typical Victorian way.
