Hi, I am Barbara and live in Lincolnshire. I love nothing better than walking with my 3 dogs, (Large Munsterlanders) and taking the camera along. Iam afraid my photographic skills are not very good, I just point and click & hope for the best. Sometimes I do take some nice shots!!
I have lived with this breed since 1986, before that I had border collies. I was told when getting my first Munster, Jenna, I would become addicted and I sure was, owning 7 of this breed over the years.
Although Munsters are a working gundog, afraid I couldn't shoot anything, so we do other things like, showing, obedience and heelwork to music.
The girls are all different & I hope to show that in their pictures.
I would like to thank my good friend Janeeden for persuading me to get started.
Video's & songs for the girls can be seen on www.jendellas.com

unfortunately some(relatives, friends,or strangers) seem a need to be negative about what ever one says. I know someone like that. no matter what I say the person feels a need to disagree. I have two dogs, both rescue. my yard needs to be rescued from them. I have had dogs every since 1985, all rescues from the city shelter

I am left speechless about this evil. Ronnie voiced what most people feel in very outspoken terms.

The unconscionable evil of such an act of hate is beyond comprehension. In my opinion, the teen should be charged with sixty counts of murder and removed from society. If he can kill such helpless and innocent creature, how long before he kills a human? And for those that say they are just a dog or cat, they are missing out on so much. No human can live without companionship and maintain a healthy mental balance, but for so many humans, companionship is denied or not practical for many. Dogs fill that void with such perfect love and acceptance as no other being can do. Sam, my male dog, is willfully stubborn and I can not imagine not having him around to argue with about whether the trash can is a wonderfull source of goodies or why the center of the hall is not the best place to drag his bed and take up residence. And Katie, my female dog - opening my eyes and finding she has slithered her way up on the bed and has her head on my pillow and is patiently waiting with those mischievous eyes for me to wake and make her little joke worth the effort as I tickle her back down off the bed... no, people that can not see the wondrous perfection of these loving creatures that want nothing more than a human partner to take care of are... to be pitied.

I'm not done on my box yet. The other day I was heading into Petsmart to look for a new toy for mine to chew up - oh the glory of chewing up a new toy - and I passed an old woman coming out of the store holding a small dachshund. I heard the woman say, "okay darling, you nails are done and your hair is done, look how beautiful you are now, what do you say we go get some ice cream now?" - Those words said by the old woman are words that should be reserved for a daughter, but for whatever reason... no children, children gone, family gone, mate gone... the old woman still wants purpose, and finds it in that little brown dachshund. The dog doesn't really understand getting her nails done, or hair done... no, she only knows that she is sharing a perfect day with the human she loves most. And the old woman has meaningful purpose and can still share what she has to offer with another living creature.

And the bugger is young enough that he will walk away with no more than a reprimand from the judge, "Don't do that again, you're are a bad boy," for sending 60 innocent souls to a horrible death. Then when he is 18 he will kill or torture someone's kid and then we will all say "Oh my, why didn't we see this coming?"

I don't know which is stronger right now, the anger, rage or pain/hurt! he should be made to collect each dog that has died in that fire and bury them! and then lock him up for the rest of his natural life! I don't give a rat's A$$ that he is 15 - THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER for what he did. I am not a 'dog person' per se, but this is horrific! Beautiful photo

A horrible story and hard to believe that a 15 year old could have built up that kind of hate. But a lovely photo of Miss Meadow. She certainly was posing for this photo!

Barbara, I am so sad to hear this terrible news. How on earth can people like this be so cruel to helpless dogs. If you ask me it is the people who commit such acts who are the real animals.

I agree completely with you, feel a lot of empathy for animals, babies, children, and the elderly, not so much for grown people, since they have brains (maybe) and can change their environments, but animals can't and babies, children, and the elderly are usually stuck under someone's control, enough said.

It angered and saddened me beyond belief. I heard that the dogs that died were all in "adoption alley" so most, if not all, were ready to go to their forever homes. I read earlier that donations are heading for £1.5m and the M6 was gridlocked earlier today with people travelling to the Cheshire site to donate and offer help. This won't bring back those poor dogs who died due to this evil, insignificant monster's actions but at least it will help those who were saved.

From such evil tragedy instigated by some yob comes hope... it is heart-warming to see we really are a nation of animal lovers and the support has been massive, well over a million pounds now raised and donations coming in from all around and not just the uk. Sometimes it's important to remember there are far more good people on this planet than bad, the only difference is that sadly only bad is highlighted and reported and not the good deeds that people do... suppose the press think it would make boring reading... I would tend to disagree I think it would recalibrate the way we see humanity towards ourselves and all living things. Without reporting on the tragedy I doubt if they would have followed it up with the stories about the kindness of strangers. I'm very cynical where the press is concerned but it's nice to know if any good could come out of this horror after so many dogs lost their lives it has done so and not simply to round off the story with a big fluffy bow for the press.

This is a lovely picture! I completely agree with you about this! How terrible!
