Description

Modeled and rendered in Bryce. The ATN (All Terrain Negotiator) is created via booleans with a smattering of multi-replication and terrain objects thrown in. All resemblence to ANTS is completely intentional. The Alien ant is an assembly of spheres and the alienling is made of metaballs. Some color correction, touch up and cape in Photoshop.

Avi you're a wizard, great modeling as always. I guess this isn't Earth, but I was still wondering why there isn't a shadow underneath this big ... errr ... uh ... bug ? !!

Hey all! Thanx for all your comments. Daniel, the big bug does cast a shadow, but the sun (which is located close to the horizon) casts long shadows. However the shadow of the terrain falls on most of the limbs, thus not generating any shadows. Thus only the front two limbs are exposed and do cast a shadow, but there is a ridge/dune line just in front of the limb (closest to the alien on ant), which isn't so obvious after the jpg compression, hides the natural shadow being otherwise cast. Thanks for letting me know...I'll try and touch the shadow up in post! :)Though I'm reworking this image right now!
