Description

how it helps to write it down read to re-read to be okay here are a few that I wrote in June to help my tears learn to heal Words When you were rushed to the hospital what was it, two weeks ago that sounds give or take it was midnight I followed the moon with the stars as I traveled to MCR a memory I will cherish as well as so many Lisa and me getting lost at 2:00 in the morning just to have a coke before the cafeteria closed security ended up escorting us back to your room and then when I went home to sleep I dreamt of you when you were little but it was you today walking I will cherish and keep inside of me for keeps then you came home your color was gone holding on you were so scared was I then the anger with the ring around the rosy I learned so much these last few months from you sweet little bud never forget your words that you said to your mom Thank You Mommy, I love you We love you too Matt you left with a smile as I felt your spirit shine ____________________________ I wonder Matt the anger a part of you like it is me and now learning I am again what life can be in what we think are you Mad at God we all can be at some time cause really how do we know what you want we can think with hearts the soul questions a lot maybe you are holding on with hope I really cannot say reading a mind I wonder how many can _____________________________ Let the sun shine for the pain will never heal let the tears blow with the wind for the memory we all love to cherish take him home Please God take him home suffering can takes its toll how much strength it takes to walk holding the head high looking at spirits with pleading eyes how much more we all should love Take him home love him more _____________________ ©2014 LKS

It can be so cathartic to write down the emotions. Like draining an infection to get out the poison. And we learn lessons, that every life has an expiration date so we should not waste it. That love is stronger than death and can last longer. Perhaps our loved ones have gone up the road just a little way and are waiting for us to catch up.

Your love, pain, tears, journey, come through in these beautiful poems. Thank you for sharing them with us. It's a soul balm, somehow, to read them. You speak of Matt, of loss, and I can see him, see you, but superimposed on the mental image are pictures of those I've lost as well, and it heals a little more in me to read your words.

Your poetry and verses speak to me as they would to anyone who's been confronted to the excruciating absence of a dear one.

A window into your soul and a glimpse of what we could not understand without having been there.
