Independent News Network 4th October 2610 -Special News Update- A dawn attack in the Goharan badlands this-morning signalled the resumption of conflict on the planet's surface between Federal forces and Dayton-Aomori security troops. For the past several weeks the Federation has been searching the entire Goharan star system, in what is now known to be an attempt to capture or destroy an important D-A facility. The Corporation has conducted constant raids at the edge of the system, but none of the raids have been of any great strength to threaten the restored Federal presence in the area. The search seems to be finally over as the Federation literally melts its way through the tortuous terrain where the Mega-Corporation's facility is apparently hidden. The new offensive is large in scale, involving the majority of troops on the planet, and is still underway. ********************************************************** This image shows a flight of Federation Landers touching down next to the remains of one of a number of Sentinel guard towers that were destroyed by orbital "Thor" strikes minutes ahead of the attack.
