Description


The ant beetle, also known as European Red-bellied Clerid, It feeds on bark-beetle grubs. This was at Arne reserve before I messed up the size setting on my camera!

That's a show stopper in such bold colours! The scale of this bugs life is given clearly from the skin texture.Great find and shot! Latin titles nearly always leave me guessing at what's to come. The "formic" bit made my think ant straight away, not beetle, so half right?
