The level of improvement (to make it accessible) of the "trail" detracts from the wilderness experience.

Great shot and these folk look to be in relative safety not like the poor people hiking on one of Japans volcanoes which erupted a few hours ago beneath their feet !!!

My lungs could do it, but my back couldn't, not without lots of sitting breaks to relax the spasms. But I'd give it a go, you bet! Lovely shot, the path looks well worn and easy to follow.
