Sigean est bordé par les Corbières à l'ouest, par la mer Méditerranée à l'est, et par l'étang qui porte son nom, l'étang de Bages et de Sigean. Site naturel exceptionnel, il formait, dans l'Antiquité, un golfe ouvert sur la Méditerranée. Occupant aujourd'hui une superficie de 5 500 hectares, l'étang communique avec la mer par le grau de Port-la-Nouvelle et offre une multitude d'activités avec en plus un parcours sportif sur les pinèdes alentour. Patrimoine à sauvegarder, l'île de l'Aute appartient au conservatoire du littoral et c'est la ville de Sigean qui s'occupe de sa gestion. Entourée par les eaux de l'étang, l'île offre une vue imprenable sur toute la zone qui s'étend de Port-La Nouvelle à Narbonne. L'île de l'Aute a aussi ses mystères et abriterait une fleur rare, l'héliotrope de Curaçao, qui pousserait sur cette terre sauvage de 39 hectares. Sigean borders the Corbières to the west by the Mediterranean Sea to the east, and the lake that bears his name, the Bages and Sigean. Exceptional natural site, it formed in ancient times, an open Mediterranean Gulf. Now occupying an area of 5,500 hectares, the lake communicates with the sea by grau Port-la-Nouvelle and offers a multitude of activities plus a fitness trail on pine trees around. Heritage to be protected, the island belongs to the Aute conservatory and it is the city Sigean that handles management. Surrounded by the waters of the lake, the island offers stunning views of the entire area stretching from New Port to Narbonne. Tu as fait le bon choix en cadrant cet adulte au plumage plus soutenu au milieu des jeunes au plumage plus clair ; et la longue focale accroît l'impression de densité du groupe d'oiseaux... Très bonne photo !!
