Description
At this same dealership, there is this wonderful antique gas pump. and by looking at the price of gas when this pump last saw a vehicle pull up to it for gas, you know that this pump is old.

Heh Heh - judging by the price Mike ... then yes. I have seen a few "hand" pumps over here though they are very few and far between.

I'm guessing late 60's, early 70's for sure before 72 when the arabs put the screws to us big time. A fine looking image and pump!

So on average gas prices are now US $5? Forty-nine cents seems impossible even for that long back compared to now. Where's the tipping point? $6? $8? Quite a thought-provoking image, Mike.

after high school I worked a short time in a gas station(1962) and the gas was in the teens for price. even in 1970 I bought gas in Texas for 20 cents. I then worked in California at a gas station and the gas was below the 49 cents

When I started to drive - gas was 29 cents a gallon and unfiltered Raleigh's cigarettes were the same 29 cents a pack price! Those were the days!
