Well, it's been nearly a year since I have posted in the galleries due to being too busy with my industrial/commercial photography work which is only interesting if you like photos of machinery and industrial processes. However, this one is quite different. I have recently been working with a UK charity called Little Heroes Cancer Charity and their fundraising team Unite and Ignite who organise sponsored fire-walking events to raise money for children and babies undergoing cancer treatment. The charity provides thousands of pounds worth of distractions and toys to children in hospital during treatment for cancer. They visit every children's cancer hospital in the UK giving hope to hundreds of families and have set up a debt management call process offering debt management advice (via fully trained debt managers), as well as raising awareness of children's cancer both locally and nationally. A Yorkshire brewery (Bridgehouse Brewery Ltd) has produced a new beer named "Blistered Feet" to help raise the profile of the charity and a large percentage of the sales will go to Little Heroes. This is one of several photos I have produced for them that will be used in the advertising and promotion campaign. In this image I have used a slow rear-curtain flash effect with orange gel to keep the colours warm and help show off the flames in the background (tripod is essential for this unless you want to incorporate motion blur). Postwork includes a general clean-up to remove unwanted distracting highlights, slight alteration of levels and contrast as well as colour saturation boost.
