Description
Okay, other than a song title, this is my other little project. Trying to craft hubby with the more limited male resources I have in my inventory. This is likely to take some time.
Anyway. This was an original rough of the concept. I'm not likely to have much time to do much work on the task until this weekend, if I'm lucky. You see, as I was heading out the door to go to the chiropractor, I become informed that the white of my eye is all red. Well, I felt nothing, didn't get poked in the eye or anything either, so I took a look. Sure enough, it was mostly all red, clearly I've had a vessel or something break. Well, since I felt fine, and could see just fine I trot off to the chiropractor with the idea I'll ask him about it as he had about 10 years in medicine prior to becoming a chiropractor (he should have some idea). He takes a look and calls his friend who is a nurse.
She gave him a few possibly causes, but suggest he check my blood pressure, which he had already suggested doing. It's been a very long time since I had my blood pressure checked, and was something I questioned myself, but didn't want to know the answer to. Not to my surprise it's high. High enough that it was suggested I call my doctor when I got home. Now I get to look forward to that experience -- lucky me. I can hear it now, you need to stop drinking so much coffee, exercise more, lose weight......you haven't had a physical in how long? I can see my blood pressure being a bit higher when they check it, can't you?
I'd hate to have seen what it must have been several months ago, to be honest. My mother-in-law was living with us until recently when she had to go into assisted living; and I was still working customer support at work too. Both tremendously stressful situations. You'd think it would be pretty good now. Most of my life it had actually been low, or just at the lower end of the normal range. I guess it's one of those things that changes when you get older. Need I also say getting older stinks.
Anyway, I see the doc tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, but I best take it easy until then, and take the good with the bad.
Hope you all have a good night!

Wonderful image As a fellow artist, I would ask that you go to that doctor appointment. In a way I know what you are going through - I was just informed by my ex-wife, who just happens to be my best friend, that I WILL GET AN APPOINTMENT TO GET A COMPLETE PHYSICAL! her first husband, (I was number 2), just suffered a massive stroke on Tuesday night and may not recover... so like you, I'll be seeing a doctor soon.

One reading does not make a diagnosis. It is best to get your own meter (the arm cuff type is most accurate) and take your BP several times a day, recording it, date and time (your BP fluctuates during the day). When you go to the doctor, take the record and your meter with you and check it against the one in the office. (It won't matter if yours reads higher or lower as long as it is consistent, just correct for the difference.) Finally, don't worry, it raises your BP. This message is brought to you by a friendly community pharmacist.

Thank you! My chiropractor offered the same advise. Said you should check your pressure regularly and keep track of it. He checked it 3 times while I was there too, with both the cuff and an automated device, all about the same -- high.

Thank you! Went to doctor this afternoon. BP is down a bit, which is sort of hard to believe since I came straight from work. However, yesterday when this happened I had gone in pursuit of our troubled teenager (dog) who decided to be disobedient and jumped the fence into the neighbors yard. This led to me having to jump the fence several times which isn't advised with my back. I also had to follow that up with a couple rounds of scolding all three of the dogs who were being persistent about barking at passers by at the front window. Yeah, that's enough to drive up anyone's BP.

Well, I don't know what to comment on first….you have so many things going here: red eye, medical history, blood pressure, the chiropractor, the nurse, your mother-in-law, your dogs, et al, plus that great image you created above, with its stellar composition and all. You look quite fetching, and, Is that how your hubby really looks from behind? As one gets older the blood pressure usually goes up, so it has to be closely followed. Because of my very advanced age I get mine checked at least three times a month, plus my temperature and blood oxygen level. I could go on and on but I don't want to get depressed. And, yes, stress kills and getting old sucks.
