Description
Work,work,work.......but found time for another play with Tryphons excellent US Navy gear and his WWII Tents, a bit more elaborate than the last one. Would perhaps have been better from a slightly higher angle, but.......Huge thanks to Luis for keeping my toybox stocked with such fantastic gear...thanks also to BeyondVR, adh3d, and the Schell....

Really great scene, Neil! The setup and all the small details are terrific. Luis's USN gear is really a pleasure to work with too. One observation. I was reading the PT Boat "read me" and John (BVR) recommends scaling the Poser figure to 84%. For my taste, closer to 80% looks right. I think in my mind, at least, it's a small boat, but it turns out to be bigger than I imagined. Anyway I really like these "everyday" populated scenes and you have a flair for the poses. (I think the swabbie at the bow is just polishing the pole to avoid carrying those C-ration cartons on board.)

Thanks Bill, yes I was a bit unsure about the scale of the boat, rather than rescaling all the figures I upped the PT Boat to 110%....maybe 120% would be closer and would match your 80% figure idea. I'll certainly bare it in mind as I'll most certainly be doing more of these.......

Great detailed scene

Fabulous work! I love all the details and different poses you used.

Very cool scene, Neil. Really well populated with people and props. I agree, the boat seems a bit small here. The sailor behind the 2 50 cal. machine guns looks a bit squeezed. When I scale a person to a scene I try to find a single item(s) that I know what the proper proportion is to a human being, scale the human to that item and go from there.

One hell of a lot of work has gone into this one Neil - a testament to your patience and skill methinks!

Wonderful, Neil. Reminds me of the 1960s comedy TV series about PT boats in the south Pacific. I agree with the comments about scaling, so I'll refrain from adding a repeat. I'm going to download this and see what it will look like converted to black/white in Photoshop. Am looking forward to your next posts. Keep up the good work! :-) PS - about work. Someone locked in the main keys to the school where I teach. The keys were in their proper night time location when I left last evening. I suspect the bloke who mismanaged the economy and got himself fired. I finally found a pass key in the least expected place at 13:00, and found the keys hanging in the reception where they usually hand during the DAY! At night they're in the lunch room in a special location. Had lunch, and then a little bit of work. And a very upset boss. What a day!
