Description

Captured 2/19/09, very early morning, I know not where. And, no, it's not my shoe. ZOOM applicable. Cheerio.

Looks like a police evidence shot! It could be the first footprint on the moon...excellent shot, sir!

since the recent tragedy orcas, I do not think these aquariums are much needed ... sharks have a role in the sea as all marine predators ...!!! excellent !!!

This could be a very special one of course, but there are billions of them all over the earth.

Interesting capture. Made me think of the forensic shows I sometimes watch. They always seem to find out who manufactured and sold the footwear connected to those prints, and of course, any unique marking/cuts in the soles which ultimately lead them to their suspect.

I want to get some variety, so I suppose I shouldn't do two sand-print shots in a row...but I love to do series in your gallery, so I'll do it. In zoom, this has a lot more going on in it than meets the eye in the display version. (Ie, the un-zoomed version.) The sand particles and other detritus give a very gritty and multi-colored "ground" to the piece. ("Ground" as in the canvas, board or paper on which art is made.) And it's very well composed, with a deep shadow in the bottom center, and the deep shadow of the toe area contrasted with the light on the rest of the footprint. And the heel pattern contrasted with the flat pattern of the upper half of the footprint. It's a fine, compact abstract. Still, the dissolving textures of all those grains quietly takes over the shot, and it's a lovely, even peaceful effect...with those particles calming down all the fissures, crevices and canyons. Another fine study of process and imprint from you; and, to me at least, it has a strangely peaceful feel.
