Description

Ultra Fractal 5.04 (six-layers). Impressionism supposedly began the thread towards modern art but a different beginning might be construed from Art Nouveou. It was a reaction to the raw materialism which kick-started the industrial revolution, and which later developed into Art Deco. Art Deco, as its name might suggest, added a decorative aspect to a diverse range of craft or art objects. A quick "google" search should offer a multitude of examples for anyone unfamiliar. Attraction and function were melded together in many every-day objects, be it furniture, utensils, or anything with a primary material purpose. My picture attempts to build on some of the stained glass imagery which flourished in those times. Curves were very much a characteristic but sometimes sharply contrasted as here with the single "diamond" shape. Cliff.
