Description
Taken in my neighbor's reflective garden ball.
"The earliest usage of the word selfie has been traced to 2002 when it first appeared in an Australian internet forum (ABC Online) on 13 September: "Um, drunk at a mates 21st, I tripped ofer and landed lip first on a set of steps. I had a hole about 1cm long right through my bottom lip. And sorry about the focus, it was a selfie."
The first photographic self-portrait is believed to be a daguerreotype taken by Robert Cornelius in 1839. Here's a link to it...

Nice one and that lens looks like it's taken a few knocks !!

You're right, Jeff - it did, though this is an older photo & I have moved on to another camera since then.

I like the warp of the ball. It makes you look totally intense, and a little crazy! Your alter ego, perhaps? You're much more calm than this might indicate. :P

Excellent photo! I was wondering what you used for the reflection. You also provided an interesting historical tidbit.

Cool info about the first use of 'selfie', and this is an interesting one. One can become sick when staring at said spherical house behind you. And I had a big smile about what Tara wrote. What strikes me is that your fingernails are very short, now I'm thinking, whether you eat your nails for breakfast. ;-)

So cool as it distorts the background but you are in focus and looking just right!
