Description
More from my past ventures into Poser and Bryce, performed during my fun, imaginative and patient years from 2002 through 2006.
The Face on Mars refers to the famous photo of a feature, photographed by Viking 1 in 1976, that looks like a human face on the surface of the planet Mars, specifically in the area of Cydonia Mensae, an area of Mars adjacent to the border between the Northern lowlands and the Western Arabia Terra. I know you're all familiar with that. Anyway, I took artist's license and came up with my interpretation of the face, specifically for this special day.
Get up close and personal with a ZOOM.

Yeah, I'd say I'm very familiar with those regions..... no, not really. Great artistic interpretation of the face on Mars though.

Lol---when I first saw this, I didn't look at the Mars face: That's quite a "face" out there in the wilderness of Mars---I'd never seen that before. So your piece---delightful by itself---is a wonderful take-off, to boot. I wanted to comment on at least one of your halloween shots, because I don't want to neglect them as you always put on a real show for many days prior. And this one's a riot. It's also vividly done, with those (again) rich hues---in this case, orange-beige hues (sand) with that pallid, almost jaundiced yellow skull. Fine colors once more! (Your "happy halloween" greeting picks up the yellows with a BRIGHT yellow. Nice touch.) And around the face? Little rocks and pyramids! Love that touch...composed with your usual balance of upper and lower, one corner against the other, etc. A wonderful playful image; and the fact that you played off a Mars image makes it that much more delightful. (There's a famous ad with Don Rickles' face coming out of a carpet. Granted, his face isn't exactly Cary Grant, lol, but this skull made me think of that crazy ad. It's here: http://i.ytimg.com/vi/LfQlA9Hxiq0/maxresdefault.jpg) (I can't get the "rating" to budge: It's sitting on "No rating". Well, I always give 5 stars, so know that it was my intention.)
