This is based on a book I read about 33 years ago. I've tried to find the title and the author, but to no avail. Anyway, it was written by a former Wehrmacht soldier that served on the Eastern front. The part of the book that stuck with me was an incident in which a member of the squad has raped a Russian girl. The rest of the platoon, knowing that would bring partisan activity down on them, decided to take matters in their own hands. While on a house to house patrol, they attacked, and subdued the guilty party. According the story, they left him unconscious and tied up in a closet for the Russians to find.
