Description
In the center of Cove Fort stand three black Locust Trees. Locust trees can grow to a height of eighty feet and seldom live past 100 years. These trees were planted by Ira Hinckley in 1867, 147 years ago, and, sadly, are dying. Elder Borzea told me that they have become a hazard and will soon be cut down. But they will live on in the saplings grown from cuttings. You can see one of them in the background. He added that I might be one of the last people to see these magnificent trees. I now pass that view along to you.

That's totally cool. I have a friend who had a black locust in his yard. One of the trunks broke in an ice storm and covered his house! Fortunately the roof beam was stronger than the old tree trunk, but it still did a bit of damage.
