"Whats kennel cough?" Zlata asked. "Its a cough that dogs get & it is very contageous. Before you ask contageous means other dogs can catch it. So I must keep away from them for a while" Truly explained. "Can we ask some friends over to play." said Zlata. "No because if they live with dogs they could take it home on their clothes, the virus doesn't live long on clothes but better be sure. Best I wait but you can go & play, but change out of those clothes first. Just in case when I sneezed any particles went on you." Truly told her. What about Meadow, Jasmine & Mr. Buck, can they catch it?" Zlata asked. "Mr. Buck cannot but Meadow & Jasmine could." Truly said. "What if Meadow & JB stayed away from you, would they be able to go out with their friends." said Zlata. "Well mum says they have been with me up until now, so they could be incubating it, although she is worried in case Meadow gets it." said Truly. "So really there is nothing to be done, you just have to take care & get better?" said Zlata. "Yep thats about it." said Truly. After all her questions, Truly was glad when Zlata went off to get changed & go & find the others. Yes Miss truly has got the dreaded Kennel Cough, we think she must have caught it at the show last week. Mike saw her, her temperature was ok, no congestion on the lungs & no sore throat, no hacking cough also. So she has a mild form. We will have to wait 10 days after the last cough to make sure Meadow & Jasmine haven't caught it. Luckily where we have been taking them, we see no dogs. It is airborn, so we are being very careful. Luckily she is in no way ill, just husks now & then, its like clearing her throat. I just do NOT want Meadow to get it. No good separating them as they were with her when she was incubating it.
