Description

A serious design for a manned mission to Mars, using Nuclear Thermal propulsion. (Running gas over a VERY hot nuclear core). In my version I have used a variation on the NERVA design, with a longer section, and extended engine bells. The habitation module is based on the Bigelow inflatable habitat, and one of the cryogenic hydrogen tanks can be dropped to save weight. More illustrations of this design to follow... (I still have the manned capsules to add)

Another wonderful picture Nick! You my friend have excellent modeling skills! I would love to see a front view of the HAB section and the return capsule that will be used when they come back to earth. Cheers, David
