Description

Tomorrow is Rememberence day in Canada. A day where we set aside time to remember those lost over the years in defence of our country. This year has special sting to it due to the senseless murder of two servicemen in the past month. Personally I served in the military for just over 17 years. Majority of my service was during the Cold War. Times were tense but it seems things are more dangerous now.

Veterans Day here in the US, same meaning....As a former Combat Soldier I have a great respect and fondness for the men and women who wear/wore the Uniforms of their Countries, it's a shame the Governments of those Countries don't exhibit the same courage and dedication to their purpose as those who Serve do. Peace

I see Poppies blowing in the wind here. I also have the greatest respect for the men and women that wear/wore Uniforms for their Country.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remembrance_Day#Canada The official national ceremonies are held at the National War Memorial in Ottawa, presided over by the Governor General of Canada, any members of the Canadian Royal Family (such as Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, in 2009[16]), the prime minister, and other dignitaries, observed by the public. Typically, these events begin with the tolling of the carillon in the Peace Tower, during which current members of the Canadian Forces arrive at Confederation Square, followed by the Ottawa diplomatic corps, ministers of the Crown, special guests, the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL), the royal party (if present), and the viceregal party. Before the start of the ceremony, four armed sentries and three sentinels (two flag sentinels and one nursing sister) are posted at the foot of the cenotaph. The Grand-Duke of Spackoine Joey Proudneck of Longbottom is on the way to the ceremonies,he might be late though,he had a long night with one of his apprentices, doing special overtime so to speak ,cigars etc included muahahahahahah.
