Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

Very creative design! I especially like what appears to be a lion's paw (with retractable claws) on the right side.

I was gonna comment on you and Claude today (photosynthesis), but I got swamped with bank stuff...so I set aside tomorrow morning for you two: Then I saw this; and hell's bells: I HAD to comment on this now, since I just did an "ABC" and Helle's done a ton more. Andrea, this is TERRIFIC! I LOVE it! It's got all your wonderful squiggly lines and sinews, it's got a big Celtic thing going on in the bottom, some Pacific Northwest Totems hangin' out, a head, an eye (maybe a few), a genuine Andrea foot with claws, it's got anklets and other (andrea) jewelry and a touch of Yin Yang, Picasso, and a lotta your inimitable imagination. I love it! I hope others pick this up---Tara's threatened---it would be great to see all the variety. Then we can all storm Helle's place and demand our money back...I LOVE this. When you draw, doodle, fly, and get all intricate at the same time, you do things that are totally YOU, and I love it every time. Very old calligraphy meets a big clumpy happy dancing figure. Ze best!!!

My first thought was something Canadian as in Illuminated, A? An odd little bird. Mark already said most of what I was thinking so I'll just add, how do you folks say it? A real corker!

The celtic thing struck me first, and Mark got all the rest. But he failed to mention that 1960s Peter Max/psychedelic feeling, I hope this hasn't been sitting around all that long! Great work!!!
